Dr Ken Kremer

Dr. Ken Kremer is lifelong space enthusiast and a research chemist, space/science journalist, photographer, speaker and founder/editor of Space UpClose website reporting up close on all things related to NASA and Space Exploration. Ken is based nearby the Kennedy Space Center in Titusville, FL., active in outreach and interviewed regularly on local, national and international TV about space topics and offers independent analysis. He lectures about both human and robotic spaceflight – specializing in Mars.

His goal is to educate and excite the public and kids about science and space exploration via journalism, media appearances, lectures and outreach. He was awarded the Curiosity medal by NASA’s Chief scientist for his Mars and outreach efforts

Ken has over 30 years experience in Research and Development in Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences in academia and at Cyanamid, Wyeth and Pfizer.  Products he helped develop are sold in the marketplace to benefit humanity.

Ken received his PhD from the State University of New York in Stony Brook, NY, BA from New York University in New York City. He did Post Doctoral studies at the University of Bonn in Germany.

Dr. Kremer holds 17 US Patents, has over 3 dozen scientific publications, written over 1500 space articles and has 14 published APODs – Astronomy Pictures of the Day.

Ken has a 2 decade career in space journalism and outreach and witnessed over 200 rocket launches.
