Party under the Shuttle Endeavour celebrating all things space! This year, our theme is “Women Of Space”. This is a founder event featuring Loretta Hidalgo Whitesides.

Featuring Flown Astronaut Dr. Soyeon Yi as our keynote speaker. Dr. Soyeon Yi is South Korea’s first and only astronaut. She was selected as an astronaut in December, 2006, out of 36,000 contestants vying for the title of South Korea’s First Astronaut.
On April 8, 2008, she launched into space on-board Soyuz TMA-12. During her 11-day mission at the International Space Station (ISS), Dr. Yi completed an aggressive number of experiments contributing to South Korea’s science text books and science channel television lectures.
Dr. Yi received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and her Ph.D. from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). Her Ph.D. thesis is “DNA Separation Chips Using Temporal Asymmetric Ratchet Effect in Non- Uniform E-Fields”. In May, 2014, Dr. Yi received her MBA with an emphasis on Technology and Global Leadership at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. Currently, Dr. Yi is working with Studio XID developing digital prototyping software as the North America Business Lead, and with Silicon Valley- based satellite startup, Loft Orbital Solutions Inc. as the strategic business development & international partnerships.
Dr. Yi is passionate about nurturing the next generation of leaders in STEM; she is not only volunteering for various non-profits as an inspiring speaker but also lecturing at University of Washington and local community colleges. When she is not busy with her global speaking engagements, she enjoys singing, playing the piano, gardening, crafts and hiking. She presently lives in Puyallup, Washington, with her husband.

Rachel Lyons :: Executive Director, Space for Humanity. Key advocate in the advancement of space technology and exploration.

Janet T. Planet :: Passionate space-lover, professional innovator, engineer, and world-class experience designer, including Virgin, Disney, and Wonka. As a fashion designer and early fan of Yuri’s Night, staged two space-themed fashion shows at the event in 2002 and 2003. Currently realizing the Zero G Colony, coming 2021.

Payton Barnwell :: Associate Flight Sciences Engineer at The Spaceship Company, Brooke Owens Fellow, and Speaker Coordinator for SGx 2020.

Also Featuring Special Guest Flown Astronaut Story Musgrave. Story Musgrave will share tales from his Six Space Shuttle flights. In addition to being the only astronaut to fly on all 5 Space Shuttles, Musgrave was the lead space walker for the 1st ever Hubble repair mission.

Gray Bright will be hosting Yuri’s Night L.A. this year! Gray has been a host, a performer, moderate, emcee, collaborate, and participate in many local and international events, including Government & Corporate, TV & Film, Comedy Clubs, with ‘Monty Python’ at London’s O2 Arena, and performing comedy at NASA Kennedy Space Center during the launch of an Atlas V Rocket.
He has also been the host of Yuri’s Night L.A. for many great years. Gray brought us the Steve Hawking tribute and has also been seen interviewing people at the event on his motorized late night talk show desk!
