COMMERCIAL MOON EXPLORATION TALK
The first ever privately-funded spacecraft is due to land on the Moon in April in what will be a historic feat that only 3 governments have achieved to date. The mission, being carried out by the Israeli organisation SpaceIL, is set to kick-start the commercial exploration of the Moon.
Come and hear the backstory behind this amazing mission from Dr Andrew Barton, the former Director of Technical Operations for the Google Lunar XPRIZE, where SpaceIL first made its start and competed with numerous teams companies from around the world. Andrew’s talk will also cover commercial lunar exploration in general and the opportunities for Australia to get involved.
(The talk will be held in MOD.’s Lecture Gallery next to Food Lore cafe.)
Celebrations will continue at MOD. with the chance to check out the exhibits in the Orbitopia and the Cosmic Living Room, and win prizes in our space quiz.
Join us to celebrate this historic occasion – wear your best space-themed outfit and get a free drink.
Drinks and nibbles will be available for purchase from Food Lore cafe at MOD.
