Brice Russ is the Engagement and Outreach Advisor for Yuri’s Night.
Brice joined the Yuri’s Night Global Team in 2006 as the Director of Media Relations and led the media and PR presence for Yuri’s Night until 2013. Brice was named Assistant Director in 2010 and served in that role until 2015; he is a founding member of the Yuri’s Night Board of Directors, a role in which he still serves.
Brice is currently the Social Media Producer for the Science family of journals at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He was previously Director of Communications for the Linguistic Society of America and, prior to that, the Public Relations Team Lead for Wolfram Research in Champaign, IL. In the space industry, Brice has chaired the Social Networking Committee for the National Space Society (2010-2013), advised organizations including 4Frontiers and Integrated Space Analytics on social media outreach, and served as a freelance space journalist and blogger for groups including Ars Technica and the Google Lunar X PRIZE.
Brice received his B.A. in Linguistics (with an English minor) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was vice-president of UNC’s SEDS chapter, and his M.A. in Linguistics from The Ohio State University.
