Yuri’s Night Bay Area 2007

In a little less than a week, the first Yuri’s Night 2009 events will begin. This year, Yuri’s Night will span 8 days, starting April 4th and going through April 12th (and beyond).

Here’s What you can do to help:

Find a Party: There are currently 140 Yuri’s Night parties scheduled around the world. Find the party closest to you. To find a party, use our interactive map or browse through the list. Remember, every party has it’s own RSVP policies, so visit the individual party’s Web site or contact the event’s organizer for details:

The most important part of the Gear page, of course, is the Party Pack, a perennial Yuri’s Night event favorite. This year’s Party Packs will feature the classic YN T-shirt, a lapel pin, light-up bouncy ball, and dozens of stickers and temporary tattoos. One comment we’ve frequently gotten from larger parties is that this just isn’t enough, that there should be an easier way to purchase extra bouncy balls or tattoos. We’ve listened to you and added the ability to purchase extras of individual items on the Gear page, right below the Party Pack entry.

Yuri’s Night and a consortia of other space organizations, in partnership with American Forests, have created a project to bring Earth and Space a little closer together. We are planting a Space Explorers’ Forest near Mojave, California, replacing trees that burned in the 2003 San Bernardino fires through the American Forests Global ReLeaf program. It will be a place that everyone will know was planted by people committed to space and committed to making a difference on Earth.

If you, your group, or your company would like to join us in taking a stand and saying that Space is all about managing our resources and honoring the home planet, please log on now.
