Join the Yuri’s Night Global Webcast on April 12!
The Yuri’s Night events are beginning in earnest, with the California Academy of Sciences hosting their “Yuri’s Nightlife” event yesterday evening–but to celebrate the big day itself, we’ll be bringing back the Yuri’s Night Global Webcast on Tuesday, April 12th!
The Global Webcast, hosted by the popular duo of Ben and Cariann Higginbotham over at Spacevidcast, had over 100,000 viewers last year, and it’s only looking to grow this time around. Starting at 6 PM CDT (7 PM EDT, 2300 UTC) 4/12 and ending at 2 AM CDT (3 AM EDT, 0700 UTC), this year’s event, Ben and Cariann will be checking in with over 20 events around the world, including Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Graz, Austria (the home of the 2000 Space Generation Congress, where Yuri’s Night was launched), and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Global Webcast will also be showing videos, including selections from this year’s YN interviews with figures like ESA Director General Jean-Jacques Dordain and Bill Nye, The Science Guy. And, of course, Ben and Cariann will be discussing Yuri’s Night with chatroom guests, with their trademark blend of deep knowledge and humor. There’ll also be a few other exciting announcements planned for the webcast–keep checking the blog this weekend to find out more!
Yuri’s Night is supported by individuals, groups and organizations like Richard Garriott and the Elon Musk Foundation.
